    [Hong Kong] IFC and HKMA Showcase Best Practices in Sustainable Business and Climate Finance at the IFC Climate Business Webinar

    The Centre for Green Finance (CGF) under the HKMA Infrastructure Financing Facilitation Office (IFFO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), co-hosted the first IFC Climate Business Webinar over the last two days (14-15 December). The event took place virtually in lieu of the previously planned 6th Annual IFC Business Forum, an IFC flagship event to discuss best practices in sustainable business and green banking. During the IFC Climate Business Webinar, Mr. Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA and Mr. Vivek Pathak, IFC’s Director for East Asia and the Pacific, discussed the recent launch of the Alliance for Green Commercial Banks.

    [Hong Kong] SFC licenses first virtual asset trading platform

    The SFC announces that it has granted the first licence to a virtual asset trading platform in Hong Kong. The platform is licensed for Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 7 (providing automated trading services) regulated activities. It will only serve professional investors under the close supervision of the SFC and will be subject to tailor-made requirements similar to those which apply to securities brokers and automated trading venues.
